So what’s up with Bowness? Seemed like a nice, collected and chill guy with us and now is throwing temper tantrums in Dallas, keeps trashing his players after games etc.
Ryan McDonagh and Erik Cernak are both game-time decisions for tonight's contest against the Stars, Lightning head coach Jon Cooper told media Saturday following the team's morning skate, although he added McDonagh is more likely to play than Cernak.
"Probably Mac has got a little better chance of potentially playing than Cernak, but I'm not ruling either one of them out," Cooper said.
How much do the 9 goals they scored against our AHL goalies affect that pace though? Not to mention all the other COVID ridden teams (many on back to backs to boot) they've victimized. The Panthers are on pace to score 328 goals this season. Our 2018-'19 team scored 319, for comparison. Pretty good.
Yeah that kind of pisses me off that teams like New Jersey hero to postpone games due to covid but we get stuck playing with half our team in protocol. How much do the 9 goals they scored against our AHL goalies affect that pace though? I wonder if it’s (also) up to the teams to postpone and we went with sticking to the schedule to not risk having to play too many games later in the season.Yeah that kind of pisses me off that teams like New Jersey hero to postpone games due to covid but we get stuck playing with half our team in protocol.

To be honest, it might be good in the long run. We're currently looking at ONLY 3 postponed games. We're looking to get a really good rest next month.Yeah that kind of pisses me off that teams like New Jersey hero to postpone games due to covid but we get stuck playing with half our team in protocol.
Yeah I've been wondering that too. I would make the same decision. Rather just get these games out of the way.I wonder if it’s (also) up to the teams to postpone and we went with sticking to the schedule to not risk having to play too many games later in the season.

Well worth a couple of losses.

Yeah when you look at goals against, we were giving up 2.7 per game in 2019. They're giving up 2.86 now. They're giving up more to score more. That's not a recipe for post season success. They should know this as a team that gave up 3.25 goals per game in the 2020 playoffs and 4 per game in the 2021 playoffs. If you take out that game, that's still 139 goals in 36 games, a 317 goal pace.
FWIW, aside from the 2019 Lightning, the last team I could find that scored 300+ goals in an 82-game season were the 2009-'10 Capitals...another team who flamed out in the first round.
