Fast had 5 hits, 1 blocked shot in his debut 3-0 win.
But he was too expensive and that extra year would have been wayyy over the top.. Glad we got JJ who sucks and showed pretty much zero physicality as well. People think that a guy like Fast who does so much dirty work is easy to replace. Getting in first grinding for loose pucks. Making the d have to actually work

This would have been possibly the worst game last season from before the play-in. In fact we got shutout 0 times last year.

I wasn't saying we've played worse before this game, I was stating that this isn't a surprise considering the decline we have seen since the covid break. We knew it was going to be a soft season but this was a smack in the face, hopefully we'll see jump on saturday.

Seems like ADA is going to be the scapegoat this season. It's no coincidence that after Quinn benched him the Rangers couldn't generate a damn thing offensively. And the guy is playing with the worst defenseman in the NHL.
I hate how 50% of my posts have to be "ackshually DeAngelo was/is good", it's just very alarming how both the team and fans seem to have knee-jerk reactions at the drop of a hat that one of our best players needs to be benched/scratched/sent to Siberia.

It’s cool to use an expected goals chart to figure out who played well. Why bother even watching? I mean, Laf was less than Johnston....
I think he watched the game too. You need to do both to judge a player imo. Plus Johnson’s xGF% would have been a lot worse if he wasn’t playing with TDA.

Bad night. We’ll throw this one away. If it continues then it’s a growing season and we should be sellers. After we sell get Kravtsov, Lundkvist and others ice time. LGR.

Look who's on the bottom.

A rebuild is about development, folks.

The whole team sucked tonight, throwing it on one or two guys is silly. Its only the first game.

That’s unfortunate. I really like him (only as a hockey player for the record).

Kakko needs to step up. JJ needs a plane ticket. And idk wtf to do about Trouba.
Stuck with Trouba unless Schneider in 3 years is the real deal then you pay the price and buy out Trouba. Let's hope Trouba turns things around. We paid a lot for him and a very good draft pick as well.

Quinn’s presser is repulsive. His demeanor has spread to the locker room. Now I see where it comes from! Axe him now before he ruins our guys. Maybe this is why KK doesn’t develop — he’s not around the right atmosphere.
What did he say? Or was it his body language? I had to change the channel and put on another game when the Ranger game ended.

He’s slouched, saying that the other team is really good and that this team is a good learning lesson for young players. There’s no anger or emotion. He looks like a professor giving a lecture after waking up from a nap.

Bring back Iron Mike Keenan. He'll whip these girls in shape in no time. Time to stop babying players like Kakko. Mike will play mind games with these youngsters by switching players lockers between periods and other mentally confusing tactics.

I know it sounds weird but it works. He used to bust Brett Hull's chops like this and look how well he did afterwards: 2 Stanley Cups. Iron Mike will wrend, mangle and destroy the minds of these delicate flowers and they will be born hard again.

I ask myself what’s different this season. Why the players look so different — and I think I have the answer: no Hank. Lundqvist’s drive to win was contagious; maybe that’s where CK got his. Something is clearly different this year. There is no leadership.

Torts would say “We sucked! We were slow and did nothing when we had the puck. We took stupid penalties. You don’t win playing like this.” Maybe we can get John McEnroe to speak in between periods?

Its the first game of the year, i think you're reading too much into this 1 game in a season without exhibition games.
