So 4 games? Lmao come on.

how about the much more sizable sample where this team actually looked competent pre-covid?

Now WHY they walked into the bubble and looked the way they did and if they take a while to get going this year looking this bad then yeah, we gotta figure out why this is happening. But lets not get it twisted.

Panarin looking like a drunk hybrid of 2015 MSL and mopey Zuccarello isn't helping matters though. If he isn't going, Strome is going to be useless by default.
They mostly looked competent because Panarin was a Hart finalist and Zibanejad went Super Saiyan 3.

Which players that we've drafted have taken significant steps since the letter?

This is when the illusion that you can man a roster with a bunch of kids and a couple superstars starts to fade.

Life after Henrik won't be an easy adjustment.

Gauthier came to play, that was encouraging.

Otherwise, burn the tape on this one. We play so slow because 40% of our roster aren't capable of processing the game at this level while being key players with a lot of responsibility. It's not fair to anyone to ice this kind of roster. Only reason we weren't Detroit last year goaltending and stupid production from 2 forward. Nobody should be shocked by tonight.

Look who's on the bottom.

A rebuild is about development, folks.

Seems like ADA is going to be the scapegoat this season. It's no coincidence that after Quinn benched him the Rangers couldn't generate a damn thing offensively. And the guy is playing with the worst defenseman in the NHL.
Yep let's get used to it especially if he goodness forbids shows some emotion losing 4-0 to a rival.

Nah. It was a big part of it, but no.

Which players that we've drafted have PLAYED WITH THE TEAM since the letter?

It's Kakko, Lafreniere and Miller. 2 of them have played one game.

That’s unfortunate. I really like him (only as a hockey player for the record).

Kakko needs to step up. JJ needs a plane ticket. And idk wtf to do about Trouba.

The team was not good tonight, refs were even worse. That no goal call still makes no sense, laf getting whistled for a stick lift and then a legit slash going uncalled which led to the 4-0 goal.

I really want to know what they worked on during camp though.I've seen teams look worse because they are worse, but I haven't seen any team look THIS disjointed.
Yeah, I’m hoping that we can ultimately chalk this one up to rustiness but man, that looked like an epic coaching failure in top of a few unready/unfit players in the lineup.

JMFJ needs to go. I’m fine with K’s growing pains. Kakko needs to start showing much more assertiveness.

Also, Chytil and Howden, neither of whom are really progressing.

3 stars? Are you kidding me?
A few comparatively better but no one deserved stars.
Gave Shesty one, b'c 3rd period he started making some serious saves.
Almost nobody else showed much.

That was even more painful than if it was a kazoo.

I opened my 5th bottle tonight quite recently. Imagine that

My friend, remember Picasso's Last Words, a tune sung by the great Paul McCartney:
Drink to me
Drink to my health
You know I can't drink any more

I ask myself what’s different this season. Why the players look so different — and I think I have the answer: no Hank. Lundqvist’s drive to win was contagious; maybe that’s where CK got his. Something is clearly different this year. There is no leadership.

Torts would say “We sucked! We were slow and did nothing when we had the puck. We took stupid penalties. You don’t win playing like this.” Maybe we can get John McEnroe to speak in between periods?
