In a rivalry game I'd personally rather find a way to give the MVP candidate more ice time than the agitating grinder.

He’s still young and it’s one game, but to me, the guy just completely fails the eye test. Every time I watch him on the ice he doesn’t even look like he’s skating. Just a non noticeable player right now.

Now WHY they walked into the bubble and looked the way they did and if they take a while to get going this year looking this bad then yeah, we gotta figure out why this is happening. But lets not get it twisted.

Panarin looking like a drunk hybrid of 2015 MSL and mopey Zuccarello isn't helping matters though. If he isn't going, Strome is going to be useless by default.

Quinn needs to go. Just looking at Trouba’s and Kreider’s faces. Wow. That is not right. No player should look like that after a loss like this. No intensity. No fire. No ownership. “The other team is really good.”

At least CK acknowledges shortcomings. I see the anger inside him but it seems more like frustration that others don’t feel the way he does. At least that’s my impression.

Yes it is 1 game. They have played exactly 3 competitive games in 10 months. How can you make such a statement. They had a 4 month layoff before the bubble and a 6 month layoff before tonights game with no pre-season games and they are the youngest team in the league. They just need some time to play together, just like last year. Talk to me in about 10 games.

Yup, agreed on this. Quinn is not the guy to bring this group from rebuild into contender status. Nice guy, good working with kids. But he’s just not a good coach when you’re trying to win.

Players playing like it’s preseason isn’t great and that’s on them. I know it’s the first real game but they need to be prepared.

There’s no reason JJ should be playing over Smith if it’s between the two of them. Johnson sucks ass.

Just very sloppy game and pretty listless.

Not worried about Lafreniere or Shesty. Worried about guys like Chytil, Miller, Kakko for various reasons.
Now what do we do? Take Miller out only to move Smith to first pair with Trouba and keep JJ in the lineup?
I feel thats what DQ is gonna do. Miller is gonna get played like a yo-yo this season and Kakko with find himself with 80,000 different linemates.

no it’s not. What matters is that we win as a team lol.

I’m really over Quinn at this point. He has done nothing that has impressed me so far. If this team can’t succeed with this much talent than it’s definitely on the coach.
