so, this was bad, not throwing away the season just yet... but for everyone saying "it's one game!", no, this shit has been happening for awhile now.

This would have been possibly the worst game last season from before the play-in. In fact we got shutout 0 times last year.

I feel like this has become an urban legend lol the guy doesn’t look like he’s huffing and puffing after running up a flight of stairs for once and all of a sudden he was our best player

Rangers looked completely out of sync pretty much from puck drop to final whistle. I don't think anyone played all that well so for me there's really no point even looking for scapegoats. Shesterkin was good after the 1st period but by that time it was too late. The team got outworked and outhustled and over and over again had trouble completing even simple plays.

Hard to see how we get out of a division playing against the same teams that will strategize to pick us apart when we have Quinn behind the bench and Trotz, Laviolette, Cassidy, Sullivan, AV, and even Ruff who knows Quinn all too well by now.

I'll be honest I'm not sure how Kakko rounds that out as so bad, but my watching of the third wasn't very closely

Panarin and Strome were just not doing anyone on their line any favors, I can't pin that on Kakko. He wasn't great but no one really was. Worst thing is just that he seemed to be waiting for his linemates instead of doing things

Ultimately this looked like a vet Isles team with a tight system versus a young Rangers team trying to find its way

I thought the first line was good, 2nd line didn't live up to what it needs to, 3rd line was dec for awhile, 4th line was alright, defense wasn't good outside of Fox and Lindgren, Shesterkin struggled.

DeAngelo grades out well but he seemed to get soft minutes and not do much on offense like we need him to

Seems like ADA is going to be the scapegoat this season. It's no coincidence that after Quinn benched him the Rangers couldn't generate a damn thing offensively. And the guy is playing with the worst defenseman in the NHL.

It’s cool to use an expected goals chart to figure out who played well. Why bother even watching? I mean, Laf was less than Johnston....

Agreed but in a rivalry game the coaches need to find a way to get a guy like him out there more then 5 minutes. That’s Aaron Voros ice time.

I’m not making any assumptions on Kakko until I see him on a team with a real coach. Quinn is not that at this point

Good players find a way. Look at Fox. Kakko might be amazing in the future, but he’s bad now. It could be a development problem.
