How would people feel if Mike Sullivan were behind our Bench next year?

Because if Quinn gets canned, I think thats the move they make (I don't think Sully survives beyond this season in Pitt either.)
Just my view, but it is waaaaay to early to be discussing Quinn being fired.

We’re in year 3 dude, when do you want to start having the conversation?

In year 5 when it’s become even more abundantly clear he’s not coach this team needs to take the next step?

What's the coach for? Why doesn't he show leadership?

I agree with you on the coach. He has to be better and has been clearly outcoached in many instances.

I was simply referring to the notion that we didn't turnover the roster. I am willing to give the team a pass for last night, given how young they are and they are **allegedly** learning a new system.

I do think DQ's leash may be shorter than many here were speculating.

Quinn is here for the season unless the team is in dead last and an absolute tire fire on and off the ice. Including players asking for him to be removed.

Summer will be a different story.

well so far he’s on pace to hit the first two of those 3 bullet points

I'd say its beyond time. Its year 3, the team still has no discernable identity, not really sure what our structure is beyond pond hockey. Team usually seems disjointed, and I struggle to think of a kid who has come up through the system and blossomed under Quinn.

Last night looked like a preseason game. Not too unexpected. A couple of observations

  • Jack Johnson was not nearly as bad as advertised. No, he is miles worse.
  • Laf looked very comfortable.
  • Miller looked nervous but good. He is going to be able to skate his way out of some rookie mistakes.
  • Kakko was invisible.
  • Sheshty looked rusty.
  • Kreider, Zibby and Panarin looked good.
  • I was pleasently surprised by Rooney.
  • I need to revisit Jack Johnson again because he was just that bad. Put in Brendan Smith please.

Yeah i don’t think he gets fired in season but the summer it needs to be a legitimate conversation.

In the end you have a goalie that probably wants 2 or the 3 goals back from the 1st period. You have a team taking stupid, stupid penalties shift after shift. You put out a youngster in Miller on the 1st pairing in his first NHL game. Blame Quinn for that but when you go down 2-0 in the first 3 minutes of a game, a veteran team will take a while to get back into the game. With 14 kids under the age of 25 in that kind of game against a solid defensive team your chances are something like a snowballs chance in hell. I told my buddy between the 1st and 2nd that no way this team can come back. Wait till Saturday and see what the team looks like!

On jack Johnson went back and watched a bit it’s amazing how easily the isles were able to make a pass on the power play thru the slot to the top of the crease with Johnson on the side defending the pass. Multiple times it went thru easily and he was on one knee with his stick actually facing the boards instead of the middle of the ice. Amazing really how bad he was.

That pass threaded thru no issue

After sleeping on it, it was a bad game and the team looked unprepared. Burn the tape, go again Saturday, get some shit done. The one thing that concerns me is the d zone coverage. I first noticed Miller rotating out high in puck pursuit and thought it was a rookie being jittery and over anxious. Noticed other guys doing it as well later with no forwards rotating down low and it lead to quality scoring chances.
