I think the biggest question marks on the roster are the right wingers on bottom 3 lines that is not a group that inspires a lot of confidence also the PK might be pretty terrible.

I was hoping Gettinger or Barron or Richards or Khodorenko or even Rueschoff to make the team, but instead DiGuiseppe is back again. What was so great about him last season?

Let’s go!!!

I'm quite certain he would suddenly figure out how to play his fourth line if he had a fourth line worth playing.

Yea, for all of the compliments you could give management they really failed on this one. With the additional risk of illness, the last I want to see is Digiuseppe or Howden playing up in the lineup.

Have to think you could improve on Digi at least with a waiver pickup or league minimum player.

Can't wait for this. Sucks that I'm not able to watch games live anymore bar weekend fixtures.

Let's go!

This has been an issue for way too long.
They need to figure it out already.
You aren't winning shit without a competent 4th line..
I think a fourth line can evolve during the season. And if there are any remaining holes when the trade deadline comes along, they can be filled then. They have some guys with potential. It’s worth the risk with the fourth line. Don’t want to go into the season with too many question marks in the top six or even top nine. But the fourth line can be sheltered and used for evaluation. At least for a while. Though, indeed, the shortened season adjusts the timeline.

I agree but also they’ll be breaking in a number of new guys. So they probably decided to address the higher profile new faces first. Maybe once the Lafreniere and Miller and Gauthier and Kakko settle into their new roles - assuming they do - the team will be more keen to try some more new guys lower down the lineup. PDG is definitely plain vanilla but he’s reliable and a known quantity.

He’s affordable

Particularly our division. A number of good but boring teams. The Rangers are actually one of the league’s exciting teams, which is a rare experience for me. They’ve been “workmanlike”, “gutty”,“overachievers” for so long.

Cue the "So this is what baseball fans go through" comments after we play the Penguins 4 times in 9 days

Really none of those guys were ever going to make the team. Maybe Barron had an outside shot. But some really thought kids like Richards and Rueschoff would just magically shoot up a depth chart with their games still so raw for the professional level. This was no surprise. The Rangers went with experience and all of those kids are better served getting their feet wet in Hartford.
