Me Too !
Would love Zibanejad as a Bruin
Noooooooooooooo. He's becoming a PP specialist and he's 31 years old already.

Lol. I still like him a lot, but I was referring to this.Noooooooooooooo. He's becoming a PP specialist and he's 31 years old already.
Agreed. I'd be willing to bet his career year was 2022-2023 with 91 points.Noooooooooooooo. He's becoming a PP specialist and he's 31 years old already.
True. I meant a full NTC. Partial is fineThen you can't re-sign him.
Guentzel creates his own offense no matter who his center is in the same way P Kane did.
Last year was their "free pass" for me. Going a decade for this group, so with 22 million to spend and a Vezina goalie for sale they better put together a team this year that does some real damage in the play-offs.BS, it's a must "be a better team", no must "win". For me it's just the second transition year and I hope they get back in true contention in 2025-26.
I am not a fan of Ostapchuk, watched him play all the games for Ottawa and did not see much.I would prefer young pieces (Kleven, Greig, Ostapchuk) and or picks over Chychrun. I would rather give OEL a 4 mil deal over 3 years...The future of Boston is Lohrei and Lindholm on the left side, no need to throw another 6-7 mil per over 7 years there.
deleteColageo: Boston Bruins Face Must-Win Summer
This is the weekend the Boston Bruins change their clocks. Their front office publicly applauded the Boston Celtics for winning Banner 18, all the while cognizant that the Celtics, Patriots and Red Sox have won championships since they did in 2011. The Bruins are now on Boston’s clock, and it’s...bostonhockeynow.com
True. But I think Guentzel would have more of an impact on this team than say Lindholm or whatever center is available out there. Plus Boston did really well with Coyle & Zacha down the middle last season. Do giving them a bit more support should go a long way. Plus I don’t mind locking in for a while, would give Poitras and maybe Merkulov time to develope. It’s not terrible but I will be genuinely disappointed if Zacha, Coyle, and Geekie are the entirety of the “top 6” c core again. Guentz could make it not as much of an issue tbf but that leaves the B’s locked in at C for a little bit and that could backfire.
Yeah it’s weird. I was going to watch the championship game but I lost my focus because a goalie got traded from Boston to Ottawa. I’m too distracted by that. Not sure about this narrative about waiting until after he cup before announcing IF the trade happens.
It will have zero impact on the game tonight. This isn't Gretzky we are trading.
It hasn't been announced because it hasn't been agreed to or it’s not happening to begin with.
Hey Lou, remember the days when OEL only wanted to come to Boston (with Garland) from Arizona but the B's weren't interested? Yeah, good times!I would prefer young pieces (Kleven, Greig, Ostapchuk) and or picks over Chychrun. I would rather give OEL a 4 mil deal over 3 years...The future of Boston is Lohrei and Lindholm on the left side, no need to throw another 6-7 mil per over 7 years there.
And then by Halloween we're all begging for somebody that can play center. I see what you're going for, but this team was horrendous in the middle when it mattered most, and it absolutely needs to be addressed.Swayman $7 million
Bussi $1
Guentzel $9
Chychrun $4.5
Duhaime $1.8
Kasteilic $0.8
Marchand Zacha Pasta
Guentzel Coyle Geekie
Frederic Poitras Lysell (Merkulov)
Duhaime Kastelic Brazeau
Chychrun Mcavoy
Lindholm Carlo
Lohrei Peeke
Sway Bussi
Guentzel creates his own offense no matter who his center is in the same way P Kane did. Debrusk won’t fit under the cap, so move Geekie up and give him a chance, maybe he can develop into Knuble., in any case, his numbers won’t be worse than Debrusk’s in the regular season. Then see if Lysell or Merkulov can make it on the 3rd line, can’t keep them in the AHL forever. The 4th line has to be a hammer, Maroon is too slow, and if Ottawa wants Lauko, then Bruins should want Kastelic who is decent on face offs. Duhaime for obvious reasons. See how this lineup develops through the season and make adjustments at the deadline. But I think the extra offense from Guentzel & Chychrun, and the extra toughness on the 4th line will build on last season’s excellent outing.
No way of knowing for sure, but from what I’ve seen, he’s for real. Can’t do much with the cap. Is Guentzel Coyle Geekie worse or better than Coyle Lindholm Geekie?Guentzel might, but how do we know this. He was Crosby's wingman for years and then left Pit to ride the wind with Aho . Will he be a 75 point wing with Coyle or zacha as his Center?
I don't believe in passes, get the job done.Last year was their "free pass" for me. Going a decade for this group, so with 22 million to spend and a Vezina goalie for sale they better put together a team this year that does some real damage in the play-offs.
I think he’s the highest ROI forward available. He adds an element of speed to the top six, can score off the rush or off the cycle. His pts/60 rank among the league’s elite. While not my first choice he would be a fine addition. Would need to coach him up defensively but he's had 30 es goals the past two seasons in about 11:30 min of ice time with stiffs. Would be no more than 3 mil and is only 27.
Horrendous? Doubt it. They did fine. Lost to Florida in playoffs cause they couldn’t finish their chances and had no answer for their forecheck. And then by Halloween we're all begging for somebody that can play center. I see what you're going for, but this team was horrendous in the middle when it mattered most, and it absolutely needs to be addressed.
Nor should they have been, he was playing on one of the worst contracts in the NHL.Hey Lou, remember the days when OEL only wanted to come to Boston (with Garland) from Arizona but the B's weren't interested? Yeah, good times!
Guentzel might, but how do we know this. He was Crosby's wingman for years and then left Pit to ride the wind with Aho . Will he be a 75 point wing with Coyle or zacha as his Center?
That would be a great top 6, but JDB, Lindholm & Guentzel would never fit here regardless if Chychrun is a Bruin. Do you think Geekie can out preform JDB on the 2nd line during the regular season?I think with Zacha he's good for 30 goals. Not sure about the 45 assists, but I can live with Zacha at 2C, provided we get a Lindholm/Stephenson for 1C and another winger to replace JDB (or JDB himself).
Marchand - Lindholm - Pasta
Guentzel - Zacha - JDB
Will be tricky, cap-wise and I don't think it can happen if Chychrun comes here, but that's a good top 6.
Of course, the way Monty changes lines around, those 6 could be used 7 different ways in a given week.
No team with Pavel Zacha and Charlie Coyle as their top two centers will ever win a Stanley Cup. One is a better winger the other a good number 3 center. Lindholm at minimum should be the get in free agency. Coyle and Zacha were horrendous in the playoffs, look at the numbers or just rewatch the games.Horrendous? Doubt it. They did fine. Lost to Florida in playoffs cause they couldn’t finish their chances and had no answer for their forecheck.
LolI don't believe in passes, get the job done.
Well at least until the buy-out period begins.I blame Oilers for my constant HFB refresh addiction. 2 more days before NHL permits trade announcements.
