Merci Monsieur Cour de Pommes.

First onto the podium for the Nashville Predators and dressed as Predator mascot GNASH without the head, team pregame host Lyndsay Rowley grabs the microphone, "How-DYYY AGAIN, NHL!! The Nashville Predators [MS. ROWLEY THREW HER HEAD BACK AND DOES A HORRIBLE IMITATION OF A JAGUAR GROWLING] are atcha once more with a brand new DRAFT PICK!! And once again I am very excited to hear who we are adding to the Predator pack from GM BARRRYYYYYY TROTZZZZZ!! COME ON UP, BARRY!!"

Mr. Trotz shuffles onto the stage, glaring at every member of the Predators contingent. As he removes his notepad from his jacket pocket, Ms. Rowley unsuccessfully tries to start a BAR-RY, BAR-RY, BAR-RY chant. Eyes closed, silently mouthing very rude words, Mr. Trotz leans toward the microphone: "For the 59th selection, the Nashville Predators [SOUND EFFECT OF A JAGUAR GROWLING] -- STOP IT, STOP DOING THAT!!!! -- are pleased to select from the ZSC Lions of the Swiss National League, defenseman Daniil Ustinkov."

Immediately after making the selection, Mr. Trotz bolts off the stage, nearly bowling over a stunned Daniil Ustinkov, and disappears. The arena goes silent wondering where Mr. Trotz disappeared to, only to hear nearly a minute later over the PA system the sound of someone being strangled.

dear @pit, please save us from this violent outburst.

Pat Verbeek: Oh man oh man, I'm gonna kill that Barry Trotz.
Scott Niedermeyer: Why?
PV: Well, first of all he snuck in while we were sleeping-
SN: Crashed on 4 Monster Energy's
PV: Like a thief in the night-
SN: Middle of the day
PV: And made not one, not two, but three picks I would have made-
SN: That's why there is a draft order.
PV: But how did he get so many picks?
SN: He traded for them?
PV: But they made the playoffs!
SN: Yeah, almost like the guy was doing his job, assessing his team well and not wasting time forlornly stroking a picture of Cutter Gauthier. Or stroking it to a-
PV: Zip it like a, uh, zipper.
SN: Clever.
PV: Shut it! Okay, so we're coming off Kiviharju and DiMaio's pick-
SN: Hutson.
PV: WHAT? That's a waste. Should have picked one the people I wanted with this pick then. Robbie, go see if you can find Trotz's neck and when/if you do, wring it.
RD: Really boss?
SN: No, just sit quietly and wait for him to finish pounding his next Monst-
PV: AH THAT HIT THE SPOT, LET'S PICK!

Hey losers, feast your earholes on this one. Now I've got my doubts on this guy, but at 60th I think the value is right to take a swing.

SN: Aw crap.

With the 60th pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, the Anaheim Ducks are pleased to select, from Regina of the WHL, Tanner Howe.

SN: *cough*productofBedard*cough*

PV: That's enough out of you Scotty. The Chicago Suckhawks and @Hexy4 are up,

*Don Waddell walks onto the stage.*

DW: For our next pick, owner Tom Dundon will make the selection.

*Dundon appears.*

TD: The Carolina Hurricanes are pleased to select, Brandon Ford!

*Silence, as Waddell leans in and whispers something into Dundon's ear*

TD: ... Brian Danson!

*Waddell leans in again, this time a little more urgently. There's a little longer of a beat before Dundon tries again.*

TD: ... ... Tom... Dundon?

*Waddell bodychecks Dundon to the side*

DW: Carolina selects Ben Danford.
