Best finnish player right now , "pound for pound"

Which of these finnish players do you think is the best player right NOW if you also consider the competition for that role (role = center, winger, defence)

You must think very hard and THEN cast your vote !

PS Disregarding your own team because I know you are all very biased !

Rantanen > Barkov > Aho

not sure where to place Heiskanen. Possibly last, possibly above Aho.

All of Barkov, Heiskanen and Rantanen can be the best on any given day. I voted for Heiskanen just to even the poll up between those three.

Yeah, it’s kind of interesting that they all play different positions but you can make a solid argument for any of the 3.

Aho seems to be the 4th place guy, is he just not as good as Rantanen?

In terms of competition for the role, Barkov is broadly considered the best Selke-type center in the league, while none of the other three are the best at any role in particular.

Maybe it's just seeing him 4 times a year for almost the last decade, but Barkov is a Wings killer. Got my vote easily.

If I’m starting a club give me Heiskanen. He impacts the game more than Barkov, who is also a great player. Aho is good. Rantanen is good too. Four good players, But Heiskanen is the one I’d pick if I had to pick just one.

rantanen. too clutch in the playoffs to ignore.
Good answer but went with my gut reaction which is Barkov.

Put another way if you threw every NHL player into a one year draft pool to make new teams for a single season with no salary cap Barkov would go off the board first but Rantanen wouldn't be far behind.

If Barkov could get his scoring up to that 90+ range with some consistency, I think this would easily be him. Rantanen getting a 20 point gap, tips this in his favor, IMO.

Heiskanen AINEC. Rantanen overrated, he is easily worst.

Even my grandma would get 100 points with Makar and MacKinnon

Well op said relative to players playing the same position, then I guess Heiskanen is the best. The second best Finnish defenseman is Lindell and after that there's just a bunch of #4-7 guys.

Unless we're talking the entire league regardless of nationality. Then it's between him and Rantanen.

Aho, though a great player, is clearly the weak link among these 4 imo.
The question was best player right now pound for pound and Aho wins that easily at 176 pounds and 89 points, which gives him 0.50 points per pound. Beating out Rantanen's 0.48 points per pound, Barkov's 0.37 points per pound and Heiskanen's 0.27 points per pound.

Wow, really good point. I can't argue with that
